I got the pumpkin spiced latte hook up with this easy recipe to try at home

Since last fall I've started to make my own pumpkin spiced lattes at home. They're super easy to make and there are no extra hidden sugars and artificial ingredients! I love the taste of pumpkin spiced flavored goodies but, I hate not knowing all of the other added junk that is put in with it. The recipe I use is all natural ingredients and you probably already have all of the spices in your pantry. When you make the latte at home you also get to customize your perfect blend of spices and flavor!

Ingredients:

Your choice of your favorite fall ground coffee

1 Can of Pumpkin ( I usually use Libby's)

Your choice of milk

Cinnamon

Nutmeg

Cloves

Ginger

Dash of Vanilla (optional)

If you prefer using a pumpkin pie spice instead you can do that as well!

I typically use a dark roast coffee blend but, this season I've been using a vanilla nut cream flavored roast and its so good with the pumpkin spices. I have the Keurig coffee, latte, and cappuccino maker which comes with a built in milk steamer. They sell milk steamer attachments you can get at any home store or you can steam milk on the stove with a saucepan. Your'e going to want about a 1/2 cup of milk but, you can use more or less. The milk steamer that my coffee maker comes with has lines marked for how much milk to use for lattes. I use 2% milk typically but, you can use any type of milk or milk substitute that you like. I steam the milk with all of the spices and vanilla in it until there is steam coming off the milk. If you use a milk steamer it will let you know when the milk is ready. You can custom the amount of spices you use to create your favorite pumpkin spiced flavor. I personally love cinnamon and ginger so I usually have a heavier shake of those two spices. I add just a small dash of nutmeg and cloves. Sometimes I add vanilla extract to add a little extra flavor and when I do I only add a small amount. No more than 1/8 teaspoon but, you can always add more if you want a stronger vanilla taste.

Once my coffee has finished brewing I add a scoop of pumpkin to the cup and once again you can custom how much pumpkin you want to add. Just keep in mind if you put in too much the pumpkin doesn't always dissolve and just clumps at the bottom of the cup. Once the milk is ready add the milk to the mug. You can top it of with a dash of cinnamon or nutmeg. Of course if you have whip cream always add whip cream! You can add a scoop of sugar if you like since it won't be vary sweet. Personally, I prefer my coffee on the more bitter side so I don't add sugar but, if you prefer a sweeter coffee you might want to add some. Now you are ready to get cozy and enjoy your pumpkin spiced latte without having to leave the house or spend money at a coffee shop!

Give this recipe a try and let me know how it goes! I want to know what you think of your at home pumpkin spiced lattes! Leave a comment below what pumpkin spiced flavored goodies you look forward to every fall!
