Summer Skin Pick Me Ups

Summer is almost here and here is a list of my 5 favorite skin care products to use during summer.
I don't know about you but, depending on the season my skin care routine and products look a little different. Don't get me wrong I have my year round favorites but, on the other hand I also have my summer ride or die products. In this post I will cover some year round staples and how I use them in the summer to enhance my healthy skin. As well as my favorite sunscreens and lotions for summer.
Here are a list of a couple of my summer essential skin care products to help keep your skin happy and healthy all summer long!
1) Neutrogena Clear Face Liquid Lotion Sunscreen
I have been using this sunscreen for several years now and its an absolute summer must! I won't leave my house without it if I'm going to the beach, pool, or hiking. This is a summer go to obviously since it's also on my monthly essentials on my page! It's light weight, so you can't even feel it on your skin like you do with normal sunscreen. Your'e face doesn't feel oily afterwards and it smells so good. It's also water resistant and last up to 80 minutes on your skin. I usually only have to apply the sunscreen twice when I'm swimming. I get the spf 30 but, they also have higher spfs available if you prefer a higher spf. Another awesome thing about this product is that you can find it anywhere. I usually pick mine up at Walmart but, you can also find it at Target, Ulta, and several different pharmacies. This is great if you need to pick up a bottle while your'e down at the beach if you forget it at home.
2) Mario Badescu Herbal Hydrating Serum
Warning Mario Badescu is going to be a brand your'e going to see a lot on my blog. This product has become a year round favorite for me real fast after I first tried it. This serum is absolutely fantastic for a lightweight moisturizer. I use a face cream year round at least twice a day because my skin gets dried out quick after being washed. During the summer my face cream feels like it's melting off my face and I feel so gross but, the serum fixes all of that. I use this instead of a face cream and my face still feels hydrated while being light on my skin. My favorite product to use after applying the serum is my jade roller. After I apply the serum I go over my face with my jade roller for an amazing spa moment. I also give the serum to Zach to use as a spot treatment for his dry patches and it works great for him! This product can be purchase at Ulta or on Mario Badescu's website.
3) Banana Boat Moisturizing Aloe After Sun Lotion
I think it's safe to say anything Banana Boat makes is amazing and smells incredible. This lotion has been a summer staple since I was a kid. We always had a bottle for beach vacations when I was growing up and even to this day we always have a bottle in a cabinet. This lotion is great to help keep your tan from fading and keep your skin moisturized after being in the sun. I't also works great for helping with painful sunburn and keeping your skin from peeling. It's a nice thick formal that really soaks into the skin without feeling heavy on your pores. On top of that it smells like summer in the bottle and leaves your skin smelling amazing! I use this lotion after I get out of the shower and whenever my skin is feeling a little dry. Once again this is a product you can find at almost any store that sales summer skin care products. I usually pick mine up either at Target, Rite Aid or Walmart.
4) Cleen Beauty Acai Face Scrub
I bought this at Walmart on a whim because I was bored with my face scrubs at home and now I'm hooked. It turned out to be a wonderful gentle scrub for a after workout shower to help clean the sweat and dirt out of my pores. The key to healthy summer glowing skin is a good face wash or scrub to get the sweat our of your pores. On top of being soft on the skin it smells so good too! Honestly the best part about the scrub is the price tag! The lotion is at Walmart for only $6 and you only need a pee sizes amount so the bottle will last almost the whole summer.

5) Lush Cup O'Coffee Face and Body Mask
If your'e looking for a deep full body clean this is the scrub for you. I leave it on for 10-15 minutes while standing in the shower. Once the timer goes off the I rinse the scrub down the drain and it leaves my skin feeling very soft and cleans out all of my clogged pores. I love to use this before I go away to the beach to help feel more confident in my bathing suit. I've struggled with clogged pores all over my body since middle school and this is one of the few products I find that really work for getting all of the dirt out of my pores. 6)Banana Boat Tanning Oil
I'v been using Banana Boat tanning oil since high school and I honestly won't go on a beach vacation without a bottle. I've used multiple different types of their tanning oils but, right now I've been using the Dry Oil with Argan Oil. Banana boat tanning oil is literally one of the best smells of summer for me. I love how fast drying the spray is and it doesn't leave my skin feeling sticky afterwards. The important part of using any tanning oil is to be smart about it and be kind to your skin. I won't use any oil with a spf lower than 15, the higher the better! If you didn't know the spf represents how many minutes until you'll start to burn from the sun. For example, spf 15 means in 15 minutes you'll start to burn and you need to reapply. What I do to keep my skin safe is after the 15 minutes I'll apply sunscreen to protect my skin. After awhile I'll apply more tanning oil and then put sunscreen on again 15 minutes after apply more oil. This way I get a really nice tan without getting burnt to a crisp. You can find Banana Boat tanning oils at Target, Walmart, and most pharmacies.
