Celebrate All Of The Wonderful & Strong Women In Your Life This February 13th
For all you Parks and Recreation fans you know exactly want I am talking about. Thanks to the wonderful and incredible Leslie Knop we now have the wonderful holiday, Galentine's Day. February 13th, the day before Valentine's, has become the day we celebrate the incredible and powerful females in are life. From friends, family, and coworkers make sure to remind them how freaking amazing they are. Finally, starting to get the recognition this holiday so badly deserves which means we need to find great ways to spend the day. Leslie always had the most wonderful brunches set up to celebrate the day along with the most thoughtful gifts. The best part about this year Galentine's is that it lands on a Saturday which means you can celebrate all day long. I put together 18 wonderful ideas on how to spend this awesome new tradition. Pick just one or make a weekends worth of fun activities to spend time with friends. Hopefully you can find at least one idea that sounds great for you and your friends. I also hope that you have a lot of fun reading this post. Even if you aren't able to gather with your gal pals this weekend keep these ideas saved when trying to think of a new way to spend a girls day.
1) Go To Brunch
Gather up all of your favorite ladies in your life and make a brunch date. Head to your favorite brunch spot this Saturday for a fun get together. Keep it simple or bring goodie bags for everyone with candy and skin care products. Take time for everyone to go around the table to give an update on their life so everyone can catch up!
2) Have A Girls Night In
Pick a friend to host and have a girls night in. Play your favorite movies and make home made pizza. Make it a PJ party and set up a at home spa with homemade face mask made from ingredients in the kitchen. Then set up a dance floor in the living room with your favorite songs at full volume.
3) Make Pottery
Find a company close by that has make your own pottery or a paint your own pottery. This will be a super fun activity to do with friends. Make it even more fun by making your pottery project a gift. Pick names out of a hat and make a pottery gift for that person. Go for lunch afterwards and swap your gifts.
4) Go To A Winery
Get together this weekend at a local winery with your gal pals to celebrate this Galentine's. I think we can all agree that the start of 2021 hasn't been very easy for anyone and a bottle of wine will help a lot! Split an Uber or pick a DD for a fun and safe weekend winery trip. Check around with the local wineries and see if anyone is having a preformer this weekend.
5) Paint & Sip
Painting and drinking wine is always a good idea to do with friends. See if there are any paint sips schedule this weekend for you and your friends to go to. If not have someone host and have your own! Order in some takeout and play a cute movie for a fun night of painting and drinking. It's okay if more drinking takes place than actual painting.
6) Go Bowling
Get together with the lovely ladies in your life for a fun night of blowing! Go for a quick dinner and head to the bowling ally afterwards. A little friendly competition always keeps the night interesting. The real question isn't should we go bowling but, is bumpers or no bumpers?
7) Ice Skating
Find a ice rink for you and your besties to go ice skating this weekend. Go during the day and plan more fun activities for the evening for a day of fun or meet up at night and go for dessert afterwards. Even if you and your friends aren't going to be figure skaters everyone will still have a blast trying not to be the first one to fall.
8) Throw A Galentine's Day Party
The hostess of the group will have a blast planning a Galentine's Day party. This Saturday plan a super fun party for all of the important ladies in your life. Invite them over for brunch or a super fancy tea party. Make fun desserts and plan bunding activities to partaken in during the party! Keep it low key or have everyone get dressed up in their Sunday best!
9) Go Axe Throwing
If everyone needs a day to blow off some steam than going axe throwing is the perfect Galentine's Day activity. Give this trendy new activity a try this weekend. I bet you and all your friends will have a great time and will share so many laughs together throwing axes. Who knows you guys might impressive yourselves with how great you're at it!
10) Host A Champagne Tasting
Instead of going wine tasting why not have a Champagne tasting at home. This is great for you and your friends who love Champagne. Pick a friend to host at their place and everyone bring a different bottle of Champagne. Make some yummy snacks, a charcuterie board, and lots and lots of chocolate.
11) Have A Dessert Potluck
Instead of a usual potluck for dinner plan one for just desserts. Everyone bring a different dessert to all share. Include this for your Galentine's Day party or girls night for some delicious treats. Make your favorite recipes or take this chance to try new ones.
12) Secret Cupid
Plan a secret cupid with all of your closest friends as a great way to celebrate each other. Have everyone put a list together of their favorite things with their name then have everyone pick a name out of a hat. Make plans this weekend with everyone to exchange gifts. This is another great activity to plan for your party or all meet up for brunch on Saturday and exchange at the restaurant .
13) DIY Day
Spend the day all together working on a fun DIY project together. Start a group chat if you don't have one already and pick a project everyone loves. Everyone can pick up their supplies together in the morning to get inspiration off each other. Then head to someone's house and get crafting.
14) Cat Café
For all of you fellow crazy cat ladies a visit to a cat café is a puurrfect way to celebrate Galentine's day. Spend the day hanging out with cats and playing with them while drinking coffee. This is a wonderful way to spend time with your friends and make new cat friends at the same time.
15) Take A Barre Class
Have a great workout and a blast with some great friends by taking a barre class together. Or any class like yoga, spin, or kick boxing are also awesome ideas for Galentine's day! After class go for a round of smoothies and talk about how sore you're going to be the next day.
16) Mini Road Trip
Round up the gang and plan a little mini road trip for the weekend. Make it a weekend trip or just for a day on the round. Find a super cool place that a little over an hour or two away for everyone to go too. Pile up in one car or take two just go where ever sounds fun!
17) Meet For Coffee
If everyone is super busy then meet up for 30-40 minutes just for coffee. If there is only a very short window everyone is free to meet up just go for a quick cup of coffee. This way you still get a chance to see each other and will make for a nice break in a busy weekend.
18) Make Candles
Find a candle making store or class close by for you and your friends to enjoy for the day. Make your own scents and experiment with your candle making skills. This is a great chance to do something new and fun as a group.
Pick just one idea or pick a couple to celebrate all day or weekend long. How every you celebrate the wonder and incredible women in your life you will have a lovely time!
