Last Minute Halloween Costume Ideas

Don't Fret If Your Behind On Your Costume This Year, Here Is A List Of Ideas

It's officially the week of Halloween and I'm so excited for all of the fun this weekend! Regardless of what you have planned this weekend you'll still need to have a costume to wear. If you're still in need of a costume and have no idea what you want to dress up as especially with little time to find something I have a few ideas for you. Even though we are on the homestretch for Halloween you can still have a cute and fun costume to wear. I picked ideas that you most likely already have everything you need in your closet to use to recreate the costume. Another thing you can do is go through your old costumes and see what you can put together. Hit up the accessory section in the Halloween stores and you'll be good to go for this weekend. It's time to get creative and thing outside of the box.

The fun part about dressing up for Halloween is that you can be or do what ever you want for your costume. If you don't know what or who who want to be or dress as, you go a different route instead. That's right all you have to do is head to the makeup and special effects section at the Halloween store and pick up a few items. If you are really big into make up this idea is perfect! Use the awesome makeup and palettes you already have or pick up special Halloween makeup and get creative. Look up tutorials on You Tube and other social media to get some inspiration. Your options are endless for fun makeup! Try something cutesy with animal makeup or go spooky with fake blood and prosthetics! Really all you need for a good Halloween costume is old ripped up clothes and a lot of fake blood. Here are a few things you might want to look for the next time you are at the Halloween costume store:

All-In-One Halloween Makeup Kit 18pc

Fake Blood

Oozing Wound Prosthetics 3pc

Face Mask

Another idea for a great last minute Halloween costume is picking up a mask and basing the rest of your costume around it. You can wear what ever you want and put the detail in the mask and other accessories you pick to go with it. The best part about picking a mask for your costume is that despite what look you're going for there is a perfect mask. If you want something cute pick a animal mask, or grab a scary one, or pick a mask of a character or super hero, lastly they also just have decorative masquerade mask for a mysterious look. Either go for a half mask that just covers your eyes or go for a full face mask. Here are a few ideas to look for at the mask section in the Halloween store:

Grab a cat mask and dress in all black for a classic black cat costume! Pick up a few other accessories to add to the black cat costume like a collar or tail or keep it simple and just stick with the mask. This is puuurfect if you need to swing by a Halloween store or Target on your way to the costume party and need to pick up something quick. Take a fun spin on this and be a cat burglar and pick up a bag of plastic costume jewelry to fill your pockets with your stole jewels. If you can find a pair of black gloves grab them! This will be great for a nice touch of added detail.

Grab one of these beautiful decorative mask and pair it with your favorite outfit for a mysterious look. Have fun with the rest of your make up to go with your mask. Pair it with a fun lippy and keep it simple or embrace your creative side. Look up a makeup tutorial and do some fun Halloween makeup. You can either do something cute and match the colors in your mask or do something spooky for the holiday.

If you want to go a more traditional route then I have a few ideas for you to try. I picked easy to recreate costumes that need minimal accessories from the Halloween store. Most of them call for clothes that you will most likely already have in your closet or can borrow from a bestie.

Demon

This is super easy for a last second costume for your weekend plans. I wanted to do something a little different than the usually devil costume so I went with the next best thing! I actually got this idea after watching Netflix's show Disenchantment for the 10th time. All you need to do is throw on an all black outfit and your favorite black heels and you're already half way done with your costume. Pick up a pair of demon horns to complete your spooky demon costume. If you want to add extra accessories pick up a black pitchfork and demon tail to really add to the look.

Sunshine

On a different note a nonspooky Halloween note you can recreate this costume easily. If you have a lot of yellow clothes this is perfect idea for you to try. Put together an all yellow outfit or throw on a yellow dress to keep it simple. You can also year a yellow top and orange on the bottom for another cute look. All you'll need is a fun headband like this one to really give off the sunshine look. If you plan on wearing a skirt or dress you can also throw on yellow leggings or white tights to keep warm.

Red Riding Hood

This is another super easy last minute costume. Any store that has a Halloween section should have a red hooded cap in stock. Throw on a super cute outfit underneath that gives you red riding hood vibes. Add a cute basket to the costume for more detail. If you can only find a black hooded cap then roll with it! Take a fun spooky take on an evil red riding hood. Add some dark and creepy makeup to go with the evil look. Give your character a fun backstory because to be honest that's the best part about making your own costume. Tell people you are Red after her grandmother got eaten by the wolf and you turned into Black Rider who slays and hunts wolfs in the hopes to find your grandmother's killer.

Rosie The Riveter

It's not a costume post without included this classic Halloween costume. This is literally so easy to put together in no time. Throw on a denim shirt, jeans, and combat boots or sneakers and your almost ready to go. Wrap your hair up in a red bandana and your costume is complete. You can easily wear black jeans instead of regular blue jeans if you don't want to wear a Canadian tuxedo. Most important accessory to for this costume is your bad ass attitude.

Kim Possible

What's the sitch? This costume will be so much fun to recreate and beyond easy! Go into your closet and grab a black shirt, green or kaki pants, and black boots or sneakers! Pick up a pair of black gloves and if you can find a utility belt in the costume section that's perfect! Turn this into a cute couples costume and have your partner dress like Ron! All they'll need is a black shirt, kakis, black sneakers, and matching black gloves!

Scarecrow

Who hasn't done this costume at least once for Halloween! For this costume you'll need a flannel, jeans, straw hat or a brown flappy hat, and boots. You can also wear denim overalls instead of jeans for a super cute look. You can also attach fake fall leaves and flowers to your costume for added detail. All there is left to do is add a little makeup to make you look like a scarecrow and your finished!

Mickey or Mini Mouse

If you are a big Disney fan I'm sure you have at least one pair of Mickey ears laying around somewhere. If not they are easy to find at the costume store. What's great about the ears is that you can either be Mickey or Mini mouse! For a classic Mini Mouse look wear a black shirt and a red skirt. For Mickey wear a black top and white pants or shorts. For both of these costumes to add extra detail wear white gloves and throw on a little makeup to look like a mouse.

The Bachelorette

If you are really crunched on time then this is perfect for a last second costume. Throw on your favorite outfit that makes you feel super cute. Follow up with your favorite pair of shoes and your almost done putting together your costume. Head to any craft store that sells fake flowers, even the dollar store has fake flowers! Grab one red rose and there you go. Before the night is over you may even find someone worth giving your final rose to.

Lifeguard

The best part of this costume is that you can make it how ever you want to! Throw on a red one piece bathing suit and pair it with white shorts or a cozy pair of suit pants with sneakers. Or grab a red t shirt, long sleeve, or sweatshirt. If they are plain red you can cut out a white + sign with construction paper and tape it on to look more like a lifeguard. Remember when everyone had lifeguard sweatshirts and it was all the rage. Well if you still have yours now is the perfect time to break it out of the closet. Regardless what you wear as your top a pair of white shorts or sweatpants will work for all of them. Add little accessories like a whistle and a red fanny pack to the costume.

Queen Of Hearts

Lastly, we have a costume fit for a queen running late for the ball. This one will take a little more time and creativity than some of the other ideas. Put on your favorite red dress that's laying around since you can't really go out anymore. Grab a crown and every heart shape accessory you can find at the Halloween store or at Target. Cut out hearts with construction paper either red, white, or black and tap or pin them to your outfit. Slap on a red lip and you’re golden. If you don’t have a red dress than you can wear a red top and black skirt or vice versa. Have fun with the crown and pick one out with a lot of detail or pick a black creepy one to look more sinister. It's up to you to decide if you are a fair and loving queen or if you are evil and rule with an iron fist. Whatever you do have fun with it!

Hopefully if you are still in need of a costume one of these sparked your interest! Regardless what you decide to be for Halloween remember to have fun with it! I had so much fun putting all of these costumes together if you couldn't tell! I'm sad to say this is the last costume post for this October and I'm already excited to put out more for next year. Comment below what your favorite Halloween costume post was this year! Also tell us what you picked for your costume this year! Happy Hauntings and have a fun Halloween!
